Then please apply to join us for a 6 week business challenge for growing consumer good companies in the greater Boston area focused on growing your customer base and taking your company to the next level. This challenge is a partnership between Project Repat and Wonder Women of Boston.
Consumer good start-ups usually fail because they are not able to get the capital they need to reach enough customers before they run out of money. On the other hand, most accelerators are geared towards a pitch day, where companies raise money in order to extend their runway. We are doing things differently. The emphasis of this accelerator is not on the pitch day, but how to create and respond to a sizeable increase in consumer demand, and then how to turn a few thousand new customers into thousands more. We’re skipping the raising capital part, going straight to customers and helping you sell more of your product, giving you more ownership of your business.
This program will focus on the “scrappiness” of early stage consumer goods companies. Each session is specifically tailored for you, intended to help you increase sales. No fluff, just results.
What you get:
Women Owned Business:
A woman must own 51 percent of the business to qualify for entry and hold a leadership position, meaning they are active in daily management and the strategic direction of the company.
You make widgets:
You company produces consumer goods, products that are purchased for consumption by the average consumer such as food products, clothing.
Based in Metro Boston:
Businesses should be located within the Metro-Boston area, to benefit the greater Boston community.
Business With a Purpose:
Your business model takes into account long-term social and environmental impact. It supports the local economy and creates economic opportunity.
Growth Stage Company:
No pre-revenue company will be accepted. Somebody must have purchased your product at some point.
